The event was attended by representatives from 84 countries. The administrator of Jam'iyyatul Qurra wal Huffaz Nahdlatul Ulama of West Java won first place in the adult Qur'an recitation category. According to the young ajengan born in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency in 1990, in the championship, he had to recite the Qur'an in Bayati, Nahawan, Syikah, and Hijaz styles. "It turns out that the jury's decision, my advantage over the other participants is in my mastery of songs and voice," he said when contacted by NU Online from Jakarta, Thursday, (18/4). According to him, the qari from various countries were very good. With humility, he considered it more because of luck. Salman said, he started learning the art of reading the Qur'an since he was little from his father and mother who were skilled in that field. To increase and hone his skills, he studied at various Islamic boarding schools in West Java. It is recorded that Salman once studied at the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Cicalengka which is famous for its expert ajengan of the Qur'an, led by the late Ajengan KH Ahmad Syahid (now continued by his sons, including KH Cecep Syahid, Chairman of the Regional Leadership of JQHNU West Java). Then he continued his studies at the Al-Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Cijantung, Ciamis, to Darul Ma'arif Sindang Palay, Bandung Regency, the Qiratus Sab'ah Limbangan Islamic Boarding School, Garut, to Baitur Rosyad Pacet, Bandung Regency 2010. Now he is continuing at the Tanjungsalam Ciwidey Islamic Boarding School. Salman's youth was spent practicing and practicing and participating in Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an at various levels. His hard work paid off. The father of two was also the champion of the national qari for adults held by the JQHNU Center at the Ash-Shidiqiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Karawang, West Java in 2018.
