Many of you may have seen in the news in Brazil that the situation is becoming worrying here. Recently, my wife Johanna and I received a letter from our son Noah’s daycare center asking us to sign a waiver allowing him to receive iodine pills in the event of a nuclear attack on Norway. This measure is part of an effort by the Norwegian government to protect children, and the pills are being distributed directly to daycare centers. In addition, we received a booklet advising the population to take shelter in basements and stock up on food, batteries, and water in the event of war or climate disasters. However, I believe that this measure is not only due to climate change, but also to increasing geopolitical tensions, especially in relation to a possible conflict involving Russia. In Sweden, millions of citizens are receiving a survival guide for emergencies, including wars, natural disasters, and cyberattacks. This document, updated for the first time since World War II, highlights the necessary preparations for extreme events, such as blackouts and armed conflicts. The scenario in Europe is indeed different, with Finland and Sweden abandoning decades of military neutrality to join NATO following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Recently, the United States authorized Ukraine to deploy long-range missiles on Russian territory, heightening tensions. Russia has repeatedly threatened NATO and Europe with possible nuclear strikes and the start of a Third World War. These threats are not ignored here. In Europe, which has already been the scene of two world wars, people take these issues very seriously. Another worrying development was yet another mysterious cut in submarine cables between Sweden, Finland and Germany, which are essential for bank transfers, the Internet and military communications. These cuts have generated great concern, and suspicions have fallen on Russia, which only intensifies tensions in the region. I know this information may seem alarming, but we cannot ignore it. The Bible already predicted wars and rumors of wars, and we are witnessing events that seem to fulfill these prophecies.
