Journalist Lucca Facio is one of the few Western travellers who knows North Korea from the inside. Through several trips through the isolated country, he has managed to establish relationships with the local population. He has discovered there the same human needs that we have, but hidden by a veil of repression and indoctrination. Anyone who ventures behind the world's last iron curtain will experience a very special trip: to North Korea, where we always see the same images of rocket launches and colourful mass events. The country is ruled by dictator Kim Jong Un, whom the people worship, or have to worship, as a supreme god. Little is known about daily life in North Korea, as the images that go out are censored by the government. Travelers cannot see the oppression, the forced uniformity of society and the starving population of the country.
