Travel diary from Cuneo to North Cape, driving through some of the most scenically beautiful areas in the world, going up Europe and crossing the Scandinavian peninsula, between Norway, Sweden and Finland. An on the road adventure that took us to visit the cities of Copenhagen, Stockholm, Trondheim, Tromso and to admire the beauty of the symbolic places of Northern Europe: from trekking to Trolltunga (a strip of rock suspended 700 meters above a fjord), to the Jotunheimen National Park, in the presence of the great glaciers, up to the fabulous Lofoten Islands, where the landscape literally leaves you speechless. We faced the finish line of our trip, North Cape, on a foggy, windy and very cold day (5 degrees on August 20), which however did not take away the charm of that mythical place, but made us understand how hard and extreme life can be at those latitudes. On the way back we crossed a very green Finland in the company of numerous reindeer (with an obligatory stop to greet Santa Claus at the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi), and Sweden, with its apparently monotonous landscape, but full of fascinating views, between forests and immense lakes. Over 10,000 km traveled and 9 nations crossed in 22 days of travel, from 10 to 31 August 2019. Nothing organized, just a few maps, some guides and the smartphone for booking the various overnight stays via Airbnb.
