This time we got a look inside the courtyard and court house of Noortje (85) on the Rozengracht. Noortje was a violinist for many years and worked for the Concertgebouw, among other things, just like her husband, Theo Olof, who was concertmaster. They lived together in an upstairs apartment a stone's throw from the Concertgebouw. An ideal place for their work, but as Noortje's husband got older, he had trouble with all the stairs, so they decided to move to Amstelveen. After her husband passed away, Noortje wanted to return to the city and registered for a court house. Two years later, when she had actually forgotten about this, she got a phone call: a court house had become available! The court house was built in 1737, consists of 21 homes and even has a regent's room. Now it is mainly used to celebrate Sinterklaas or Christmas. ???? What does Noortje think about living there? “A real stroke of luck”, and all residents unanimously agree. She enjoys everything in the area, often gets a 'Turkish pancake' at Effendy, and can get anywhere in the city in no time with the tram in front of the door.
