AFC, also known as nitroammophoska, is the best combined fertilizer. When applying fertilizers, you want to do everything at once - walk from one end of the garden to the other and, as in the fairy tale: "beat seven in one fell swoop." And imagine, there is such an opportunity - complex fertilizers. Aren't fertilizers very complex? Unlike the more familiar mono fertilizers - containing one nutrient element, there are those that contain 2 or more. They are usually called complex or complex fertilizers. They are obtained by simply mixing fertilizers - mixed fertilizers or as a result of a single chemical process - complex. One of the most common and attractive for a summer resident is the so-called nitroammophoska (nitrophoska), which can be sold under the name AFC (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium). Nitroammophoska (AFK) Nitroammophoska is a complex fertilizer that includes three nutrients - Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. But the composition, depending on the brand and manufacturer, may also include additional micro and macroelements (for example, Sulfur). Most often, it is produced in a ratio of 16:16:16. But this is not the law, since there are brands of AFK with very different ratios of nutrients. It is neat, water-soluble granules of a grayish-red color with a characteristic phosphorus smell. This ratio of nutrients favors the harmonious development of fertilized crops. Nitrogen accelerates plant growth and increases leaf and stem mass. Phosphorus helps the root system take root and develop, accelerates flowering and prolongs it, promotes abundant ovary and subsequent preservation of the harvest. Potassium allows fruits to ripen in a timely manner, improves resistance to fungal diseases, is a building material for cells, increases the frost resistance of crops. This combination and amount of nutrients make nitroammophoska an ideal fertilizer for refilling the soil. On heavy and medium soils, it can be applied in the fall, but on light soils, it is better to give preference to spring. Remember - potassium in this fertilizer is represented by Potassium Chloride, which means that you should be moderate when applying it to plants that do not tolerate chlorine - tomatoes, berries. If you work on a large scale, then the application rate per 1 are should be at least 2 kg, 10 ares - 20, and 200 kg are applied per hectare. This is the minimum dose, which can be increased 2-3 times. When applying fertilizers immediately before sowing or planting, be sure to mix them with the soil so that young plant roots do not get "burned" by contact with the granules. A prerequisite for "activating" the fertilizer is moist soil when applying or watering immediately after. Top dressing Due to its solubility in water, nitroammophoska is used for foliar top dressing. Top dressing with a nitroammophoska solution is an excellent way to activate growth processes. The use of this nutrient solution has a healing effect on plants, for example, tomatoes are less affected by late blight, and potatoes are more resistant to scab. 1-2 tablespoons (5-10 grams) are dissolved in 10 liters of clean water (it is best to prepare a mother liquor - crush the fertilizer and shake in 1 liter of water). Then leave for several hours, shake well and apply to the leaf surface of plants using a knapsack sprayer. To avoid leaf burns, do this in the evening or in cloudy weather. But in any case, after an hour or two, you need to water the plants abundantly by sprinkling so that there is no unabsorbed fertilizer left on the surface of the leaves. Storage of Nitroammophoska at air humidity above 50% saturates it and the granules are destroyed. Therefore, it should be stored in a tightly closed waterproof container - best in the same bags and sacks in which you bought it, just seal the open places with tape. The storage temperature should not exceed 50 degrees - so store it in a dry, unheated, well-ventilated room. Try to isolate the storage area from children and pets.
