We show you how to improve the thermal and acoustic insulation of a window and how to seal it hermetically so that it resists humidity, both in new construction and in renovation. http://www.bricocrack.tv. DIY Tutorial Thermal and acoustic insulation Insulate windows Energy efficiency. The O4 Window System that we apply in the tutorial is from Olivé (Wolf Group Ibérico). If you want to buy these products online, click here https://tecnitum.com/ You can find more information about the O4 Window intelligent System from Wolf Group Ibérico on the Olivé website: https://olive-systems.com/sistemas-pr... We already did a tutorial in which we installed a window and insulated it with foam, but in this one we want to go further and show you the techniques and products that are used in the professional world to improve the energy efficiency of windows. Once again, we have the support of the Technical Department of Wolf Group Ibérico, because we want to show you what the O4 Window System is for and how to install it, a professional system that can be used in both new construction and renovation and that is widely used in the construction of passive houses. The system is made up of four products and Juan will explain to you what each one is for and at what critical points of the window we are going to install or apply them to achieve the hermetic seal, moisture resistance and acoustic and thermal insulation that our windows need to be truly energy efficient. To diagnose the state of the window, we start by lifting the flaps and, from there, we act. Juan uses a model so that you better understand what the insulation needs and critical points of a window are. The first thing we do is act on the window frame. We place the Penosil SD 20 Membrane (Wolf Group Ibérico) which is going to provide me with the hermetic seal, protecting even the foam that I am going to place inside the frame. Remember to put the Penosil letters so that you can read them, this ensures that you are placing the membrane in the correct position. First we are going to use the foam in a roll, in the form of an expanding band, it is the E-Band 600 from Olivé (Wolf Group Ibérico). It is self-adhesive and self-expanding, once you stick it, you will see how it expands. Pay close attention to how Juan does it because the procedure is very simple but you have to know it to do it well and guarantee the watertightness. Once the membrane is stuck to the window frame, we place the foam and we can now fix the window in the gap. If you cannot disassemble the window to use the self-expanding foam in a roll, the alternative is to introduce the PU-00 polyurethane foam from Olivé with a gun. It is a controlled expansion foam. Remember that you have to moisten the surface before applying it. Another possibility, if you cannot remove the window, is to slowly introduce the self-adhesive foam in a roll. Juan shows you how to do it. Once we have filled with foam, sprayed or in a roll, we finish fixing the membrane in its position. Pay close attention to how the overlaps are made and how the final joint is glued with a little silicone. This procedure is very important so that the seal is hermetic, totally watertight. And, at this point, Juan realizes that he has put the window upside down ???????????? It doesn't matter! It has served us just the same to give you the explanations. And we only have to deal with the last critical point to resist the passage of humidity. We have to seal the joint between the window and the facade. We do it with Olivé's C-22 neutral silicone, you could also do it with Olivé's MS-35 polymer that you already know from other tutorials. Don't forget that, as it is a system, it is the correct arrangement of all its elements that will allow you to reduce thermal and acoustic bridges, help you avoid condensation and save on consumption. That is why we have explained it to you step by step and in such detail. We hope that everything we have told you is useful and that, as always, you will tell us your experiences and opinions below in the comments. Thank you very much in advance! ???? #InsulateWindows #WatertightWindows #ThermalAcousticInsulation More information about DIY and Construction at http://www.bricocrack.tv/ Presented by Juan Mateos.
