Porsche's mini SUV has undergone a major redesign for 2024, and there is one key difference - it has gone all-ELECTRIC! This may sound like a bad thing to some, but Porsche, being Porsche, has invested heavily in the engineering of the new Macan. Let's take a closer look. On the outside, Porsche has done what it usually does and kept the design pretty similar to the previous car, but it has still made some notable changes. Starting at the front, the grille has been replaced with a larger lower air intake, and the new headlights look almost exactly like the Taycan's. From the side, there isn't a huge difference to the current Macan, but you can start to see one big change they have made. And of course it's the rear, you now have a much lower rear end which helps with the car's aerodynamics, whether it looks better or not, we'll leave that up to you to decide. Inside, the new Macan is again quite similar to the Taycan, but that’s no bad thing, is it? The driver gets a high-resolution curved display, as well as a large infotainment screen in the centre of the dash. Even the front passenger gets their own display, perfect for watching Carwow. And of course, ditching the combustion version of the Macan has some benefits, one of which is performance. The entry-level twin-motor version can produce 408bhp, while the range-topping Turbo can generate 640bhp and a whopping 1,130Nm of torque – that’s 80Nm more than the Taycan Turbo S! Porsche also claims it should be able to hit 62mph in just 3.3 seconds, but let’s see what it can actually do in this video! The new Macan will start at around £70,000, rising to around £95,000 for the Turbo edition. But is it worth it?! You'll need to follow Mat and see for yourself!
