The current show quer is about bankrupt construction companies and desperate buyers, the question of whether "Bavarian" is a dialect or a language, and a cicada that threatens potatoes and sugar beets. You can see all this and much more here: https://1.ard.de/quer?yt=vd In terms of population, it is one of the largest new development areas in Bavaria: of the 550 houses planned in Köfering in Upper Palatinate, 170 were supposed to be ready for occupancy last year. But then the dream of owning a home for young families turned into a nightmare. In the first construction phase, serious construction defects emerged - leaky basements, wet walls. Due to large financing gaps, the other houses were not completed either. The developer went bankrupt, and so did his successors, one after the other. A financial disaster for the buyers: they now have to bear additional costs, sometimes in the six-figure range, while also paying off loans and often still paying rent because the new house is not ready to move into.
