After a long time with dirty, scrapped, falling-apart cars, with broken doors, torn accordions and several other problems… (like the lack of air conditioning). The TransOeste corridor of the BRT in Rio de Janeiro has gained brand-new vehicles, being the last corridor to receive the “Amarelinhos” (little yellow ones), thus making the BRT in Rio have 100% of its fleet renewed. All the new buses work with engines adapted to the Euro 6 standard, the latest international standard for reducing pollutants for motor vehicles. Buses that operate according to this standard emit 75% less polluting gases than those that circulated according to Euro 5, the previous standard.
