Israeli historian Moshe Zimmermann takes the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 as a starting point to draw a critical balance of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the history of the State of Israel in his new book. He shows historical lines and questions options for future coexistence between Jewish and Palestinian citizens. His conclusion is both pessimistic and constructive; it sees not only the regional actors, but also the international community as responsible for escaping the vicious circle of violence and counter-violence. Angelika Timm, first office manager of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Israel, discusses with Moshe Zimmermann his book "Never Peace? Israel at the Crossroads". Gil Shohat, the current office manager of the RLS in Israel, also takes part in the conversation, connected from Tel Aviv.
