#PovesteDeCartier - is a Romanian film, directed by Theodor Halacu-Nicon. The main roles are played by Sorinel Copilul de Aur, Monica Merișan, Augustin Viziru, Octavian Strunilă, Florin Călinescu, Romică Țociu and Cornel Palade. The film presents an impossible love story between two young people who are part of rival gangs, the action taking place on the rhythms of maneles sung by #CopilulDeAur, #LauraVass and Jean de la Craiova. Returning to Bucharest after a year in the army, Vio (Sorinel Copilul de Aur) learns that the situation in the Pantelimon district had changed with the appearance of the underworld leader Davinci Stănescu (Florin Călinescu), "the godfather of all godfathers and a pimp", who had gotten rich from the traffic of drugs and had come to control all the businesses in the area. His old friends were now divided into rival groups that had come into conflict after Nic (Augustin Viziru), Davinci's protégé, had violated the territory of action of Calu (Octavian Strunilă), the head of the gang that included Vio, and had started distributing drugs there. During his son's absence, Titi Doinaș (Virgil Constantin), Vio's father, lost a large sum of money, as well as the house, to the Davinci mobster. During his absence, Vio resumes his old job as a waiter at the Baraca restaurant managed by Italianu (Romică Țociu) and Vrăjitoru (Cornel Palade). Serving at Nic's wedding with Marcela (Andreea Doinea), he is caught by the patrons of the bar in the Perinita dance and kisses passionately with Ramona (Monica Merișan), Nic's sister. In the middle of the party, Calu's gang breaks into the restaurant and steals the bride. The scene is noticed by Vio, who tries to stop Calu, but also by the Lawyer (Mădălina Ghițescu) who alerts Nic. Nic's boys start chasing Calu's gang, whom they meet on the sports field of the high school in the neighborhood. Calu threatens to cut his bride's throat if Nic doesn't leave his territory. A general brawl takes place, stopped by the intervention of the police led by Agentu (Nicodem Ungureanu), in front of whom the two gangs pretend to be playing a football match. The fight is postponed until the second night after the wedding. The day after the wedding, Ramona comes to the restaurant to meet Vio. The two young people confess their love for each other. Ramona tells Vio that Davinci wants to take her as his wife by force, and Nic runs the mobster's hangar. Hearing Vio sing in the restaurant, Italianu and Vrăjitoru realize that he has an extraordinary voice and decide that the three of them will launch into manele music: Vio will sing, Italianu will do playback on stage, and Vrăjitoru will be the impresario. The two patrons convince the young waiter that this way he will be able to get his house back. Vio dreams of opening a pub in Mamaia, where he can sing; he plans to go there with Ramona. Italianu and the Wizard go to Davinci to ask him to finance the recording of a CD, but the underworld leader decides that he should be the one doing the playback and not Italianu. Vio and Ramona are brought to a studio set up right in the former house of the young waiter, where they record several songs with which Davinci wants to participate in the "Maneaua de aur" contest. Dissatisfied with the fact that the mobster blew their business, Italianu and Vrăjitoru sabotage Davinci's playback from the contest, causing boos from the audience. That same evening, Nic and Calu's gangs meet on a vacant lot where they heat up a fight with clubs and knives. Running away from the contest, Vio tries unsuccessfully to separate them. Calu is stabbed, and Vio plunges the knife into Nic's stomach. While the rivals are dying, all the other thugs are on the run. After the fight, Davinci gives the members of Nic's gang a gun to avenge the slain. Marcela goes to where Calu's gang is and tells Vio that Davinci killed Ramona. The young man runs to her home, where he is shot by the Lawyer immediately after meeting his girlfriend. Standing next to her lover's corpse, Ramona mourns him and curses the killers. #CopilulDeAur #LauraVass #MonicaMerisan #BuzeleTale #PovesteDeCartier
