At the end of August or beginning of September, the Pyrenean town of Ochagavía is dressed up to recreate the life of its people 100 years ago. Spinners, washerwomen, barbers, children playing and a long list of characters help visitors to travel back to the dawn of the 20th century in the Navarrese Pyrenees. The locals themselves are in charge of organising the festival and participating in it. Trades that are now lost are brought back into use throughout the day. Don't miss the matatxerri (pig slaughter), the threshing, the washerwomen in the river or the old-fashioned clothes worn by the locals. The little ones can enjoy period games and discover the meaning of the hinque, the torta or the marro.
