About :

[About the preservation and repair of the National Treasure Kamiya Shrine Main Hall (Cultural Property Building)] The main hall was struck by lightning on September 27, 2022, and most of the roof was burned. After a preparation period for the preservation and repair project, including the launch of crowdfunding, confirmation of the damage, and discussion of the repair policy, the preservation and repair work began in October 2023, approximately one year after the disaster. The preservation and repair of the main hall, which is designated as a national treasure, is based on the principle of preserving and reusing as many old materials as possible. Even if repairs are necessary, they will be kept to the minimum necessary. In addition to restoring the building to a sound state, the purpose is to investigate the form and techniques, etc., and to convey the value of the building to future generations. The restoration is being carried out as a national treasury-subsidized project, but we have received support from many people through crowdfunding and other means. Therefore, we created a video to widely inform people about the restoration process.
