ALMA's high sensitivity and resolution have made it possible to observe galaxies that exist in the universe more than 13 billion years in the past, and are gradually revealing the appearance of the early universe. It has also made it possible to examine in more detail than ever before the gas clouds that can be called the factories of stars in galaxies that exist in the present universe.
