About :

Yeohangsan is a mountain located in Haman-gun, with an elevation of 770m. In 1583 (16th year of King Seonjo’s reign), Jeong Gu (鄭逑) was appointed as the Hamju Dohobusa (governor) and gave the mountain the name Yeohang (艅航). In terms of geomancy, the topography of Haman is high in the south and low in the north, which means that there is an energy that will betray the country, so the name meaning “low place where ships sail” was given to this mountain located in the south. It is also called Gakdemisan (Gwakdemisan) because when the heavens and the earth were created, water rose to the top of the mountain and only enough space was left to place a gak (a square). It is famous for the clear waters of the valley, the mist covering the mountainside, and the Wonhyoam Hermitage, Chilseonggak, Uisangdae, Seoribong, and Pibawi on the mountainside. During the Korean War, it was the site of fierce battles on the Nakdonggang Defense Line.
