Attention deficit is a controversial subject that needs clarification. Is there really an epidemic of this disease? Is it real or just an industrial creation? Is it a product of our fast-paced, consumerist culture? In his talk, Luis A. Rohde clarifies these and other common questions about the most discussed disease today. A physician, with a Master's and PhD from UFRGS, Rohde is the head of PRODAH (Attention Deficit Program) at the Hospital de Clínicas in Porto Alegre. With over 180 articles and 50 book publications, the psychiatrist was the only Brazilian to participate in the creation of the DSM-5, an international manual of mental illnesses. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
