Have you heard about the mysterious holes found at the bottom of Lake Michigan? Divers exploring the lake found perfectly circular pits, just like something out of a science fiction movie. At first, some joked that it was aliens or an underwater crop circle, but the truth remains a mystery. Scientists believe that the holes may have formed when methane gas escapes from under the lakebed or may be the result of strong underwater currents eroding the sand. What's even more interesting is that these holes have a unique ecosystem that is home to rare microorganisms. It's like another underwater world that we're only just beginning to explore!
