Mykhailo Fedotovich Slaboshpytsky (*July 28, 1946) is a Ukrainian prose writer, critic, literary scholar, publicist, and public figure. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Kyiv University, worked as a correspondent, and was the editor of the criticism department of the newspaper "Literary Ukraine", the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Visti z Ukrainy", and the magazine "Vavylon-XX". Since 1995, he has been the executive director of the League of Ukrainian Patrons, director of the publishing house "Yaroslaviv Val". Co-chairman of the coordinating council of the Petro Yatsyk International Competition of Ukrainian Language Experts. Since 2006, secretary of the council of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. Father of the film screenwriter and director Myroslav Slaboshpytsky and the famous journalist Ivanna Slaboshpytskaya.
