My first time in Iceland! There is always a first time and mine was Super! I have always wanted to explore this island and my interest has increased since I began studying geology: Iceland has absolutely unique and fascinating geological aspects! The tour was organized by the Slowtour agency, we had a geologist as a guide so... what more could I have asked for? The trip lasted 8 days, crossing central and eastern Iceland. I plan to visit the north-western part in the future, 8 days are really too few to travel the entire island and enjoy all the wonders it offers us! I prayed every day to be able to witness one of the spectacular effusive volcanic eruptions in the Reykjanes area, which have increased their frequency since 2021, but I was screwed! On August 22, the very day we returned home, I learned on the news of a new eruption! How unlucky! Same thing for the Northern Lights! How I would have liked to see them! But nothing! One night, in the refuge, there were all the conditions to be able to witness this spectacle but the cloudy sky prevented us! Regarding the weather conditions, however, I admit that we were very lucky. Only one day did it rain heavily, while on the other 7 we had sun or a perfectly tolerable drizzle. Sometimes it was even hot and we traveled in short sleeves! USEFUL INFORMATION Travel agency link: https://www.slow-tour.it Jokulhlaup video: • Volcano in Iceland - flash flood fro...
