I have been trying to find a farming model that is ecological, but at the same time easy and quick to do. I would really like to move my farming to a practice that creates more soil and is more conservationist than conventional organic farming based on manure and plowing (or rotary hoeing). I am looking for an organic and agroecological practice that is suitable for the reality of my small producer equipment and that is powerful enough in soil regeneration, in addition to, of course, producing enough food for my self-sufficiency or for sale in order to generate income. I have been practicing agroecological techniques such as agroforestry for some time now, but despite being brilliant, agroforestry is very laborious and energy-intensive for a single person, especially when it comes to growing vegetables, legumes and cereals, the famous annual crops. Therefore, I have been testing several methods of direct planting of annuals on the straw of cover crops, the famous green manures. This video is a record of my first experiment planting on the straw of Crotalaria and Millet.
