HERRING IN DILL BY THE MYSTERIOUS LADY FROM SWEDEN Over 20 years ago, the recipe came to our family from a lady from Sweden who worked with my dad. The recipe became a hit and today it is simply a herring classic in my home. Original recipe ;) I have the impression that all the recipes I have are cosmically laconic ???? This year I used original matijas, which I cut into small pieces without soaking them first, for me they are perfectly salted. I would soak classic store-bought matijas in milk. marinade: 0.5 liters of water 1/3 cup of vinegar 150 grams of sugar dissolve sugar in water, add vinegar 3 bunches of dill, chop 2 onions, anglic herb, bay leaf and marjoram - layer the herrings, best when they stand for a few days KINGA'S HERRING Kinga is my friend. Recently she was laughing that she forgot about these herrings. For me, they have been number 1 for a few years. Again, smoked plum in the rub, forgive me! Any dried, soft plum will do. Cut the matjes into small pieces. Chop the medium onion as finely as possible. Chop the jar of mushrooms in YOUR OWN sauce finely. If you can't find them in the store (which happens to me often lately), boil a dozen or so mushrooms in salted water and chop them. We chop two handfuls of plums joyfully, so that one is cut into 2-4 parts. We pour neutral oil over the whole thing - I like rapeseed, sunflower or grape seed from the first cold pressing.
