Welcome to day 2 of my cycle tour on the Elbe Cycle Path. It starts in picturesque Freiburg, where I spent the night in the charming accommodation of the Wilke family. My route takes me along the Elbe dyke to Wischhafen, where I take the ferry to the charming port town of Glückstadt. The view of the harbor with the inviting Nettchen harbor bistro is breathtaking, but I resist the temptation to linger any longer and continue my journey. On the well-developed cycle path, I always enjoy the wonderful view of the Elbe, where I admire the majestic container giants and numerous small ships. My route takes me past Bielenberg and Kollmar, where I can stop off at idyllic beach bars and cozy cafés. At the Krückau barrage I experience an unexpected surprise and am forced to take a detour via Elmshorn to Schulau, where I can marvel at the impressive greeting of the container giants at the Schulau ferry house - an impressive event that fascinates me. Finally I reach the Elbe-Camp campsite, where I spend the night and look forward to the upcoming adventures along the Elbe cycle path.
