In this episode, I share my personal journey with dyslexia, a topic that is close to my heart. As a dyslexic, I know how challenging it can be to navigate a world where language is so important. From primary school, when my parents had to arrange a dyslexia test themselves because the school wouldn’t cooperate, I began a journey of fears and insecurities, but also of personal growth. I discuss what it feels like to make mistakes often without meaning to, and how the constant fear of spelling mistakes affected my self-confidence. The feeling of being judged, especially when others see you as ‘unprofessional’ for making a mistake, is a struggle that many of us with dyslexia know. In the podcast, I share tips that have helped me, such as using AI tools and visualising words, and how my language skills have improved tremendously thanks to the support of others, such as Jetty Petit. Dyslexia isn’t just about letters and words, it also has a profound impact on your self-image and creativity. I’ve learned to embrace my dyslexia and use it as a strength rather than a weakness. Creative people like me often think differently, and I believe we offer unique perspectives, even if language isn’t always our strongest suit. This podcast is for anyone who has ever felt insecure about their abilities. Let’s explore together how we can embrace our challenges, and grow and thrive despite the obstacles.
