Titane and Makely Ka reunite on the stage of the UFMG Conservatory to perform songs that dialogue with the work and musical and literary universe of writer João Guimarães Rosa and composer Elomar Figueira Melo. The performance is part of the Conservatory's 'Musical Conversations' series, in which the artists chat about their experiences traveling and immersing themselves in the backlands of Minas Gerais and Bahia, in addition to showing unreleased songs that will be included in their upcoming works. Titane – Performer, always based in Minas Gerais, her home state. She uses the backlands culture as her point of arrival and departure, and is in permanent symbiosis with authors from different generations and projected by different Brazilian cultures. Makely Ka – Musician and lyricist, has accumulated partnerships with several composers throughout the country. Her songs have been recorded by Lô Borges, Samuel Rosa, Ná Ozzetti and José Miguel Wisnik. He released the collective album A Outra Cidade in 2003, and Danaide in 2006, with singer Maísa Moura. His first solo work was in 2008 with Autófago, considered by critics to be one of the best “Brazilian rock” albums. In 2014, he composed, alongside Rafael Martini, the symphonic piece in five movements Suíte Onírica, recorded with the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra, the Teresa Carreño Theater Choir and the sextet under the baton of Portuguese maestro Osvaldo Ferreira. In 2018, he received the Sinparc Performing Arts Award for Best Original Soundtrack for the dance show Espelho da Lua, by Cia. Mário Nascimento. He is currently finishing the recording of two albums: the instrumental Rio Aberto, in which he highlights the 10-string viola, dynamic viola and craviola; and Triste Entrópico, with new songs based on his guitar. Both make up the Sertões Trilogy, which began with Cavalo Motor.
