It is a Gothic sculpture that was hand-carved. However, the wood is not normal oak, expert Albert knows, because it comes from the wooden beam of the construction crane that was used to build Cologne Cathedral in 1842. That is why the Cologne Cathedral and the coats of arms of Prussia, Saxony and Bavaria are also depicted on the sculpture, as these kingdoms were instrumental in the reconstruction of Cologne Cathedral with their donations. According to our expert Albert Maier, this special rarity belongs in a museum: "I'm left speechless, it's a sensation." This object is not only excellently handcrafted, but it also carries a piece of Cologne's history within it. Albert therefore finds it difficult to give an appropriate expert estimate. The expert opinion amounts to 2,000 to 3,000 euros, but will the dealers also recognize the true value? #BaresfürRares on Facebook: / baresfuerrares #BaresfürRares on Instagram: / baresfuerrares #baresfuerrares #antiques #rarities #sculpture
