The four #bells of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Revelation in the Munich district of Berg am Laim are ringing. Protestant life in Berg am Laim only began with the influx of workers from the brickworks at the end of the 19th century. In 1903 an Protestant association was founded which organized the first church services, and in 1928 the parish of Josephsburg/Berg am Laim was finally founded. The center of this community was today's rectory and community center. As the number of believers rose rapidly after the renewed influx of Lutheran Christians (especially refugees), the construction of a church was planned. Directly next to the rectory, the house of worship was built in 1961-1962 and was given the name Church of the Revelation. The brick building is modern and simple both inside and out. The only thing that stands out is the altar cross, which shows the Seven Beatitudes. On December 1st, the congregation of the Church of the Revelation in Berg am Laim was merged with the Rogate Church (Ramersdorf) to form the Sophie Scholl congregation. The slender campanile houses a four-part bronze chime. The first bell still rang in the rectory. It was cast from euphon in 1950 by Czydnochowsky in Erding, had the note C sharp'' and weighed 210 kg. It was integrated into the new chime by Bachert after the church consecration and replaced by a bell by Rudolf Perner in 2018 due to a crack. -- G sharp'-H sharp'-C sharp'-D sharp' Bell 1 Cross bell Tone: G sharp'-3 Weight: 490 kg Diameter: 97.6 cm Foundry: Bachert, Kochendorf Year cast: 1962 Inscription: GO OUT INTO ALL THE WORLD!
