They have been trained in the harsh natural environment of the mountains, and are characterized by their robustness and docile nature. They began to be kept in the Kiso region around 530 AD, and during the time of Kiso Yoshinaka, they gained a reputation as excellent horses. In 1948, they were restored based on purebred male horses, laying the foundations for the current Kiso horse. Currently, about 150 Kiso horses are kept in Japan, and efforts are being made to preserve and utilize them as living cultural assets. ★Yanagimata Viewpoint (a spectacular observation deck located below Kuzo Pass) Along with Kuzo Pass and Kiso Horse Village, this is a point where you can view the majestic scenery. A parking lot that can accommodate 15 cars has been built on the side of the road, and a new observation deck has also been built. From here, you can leisurely view Mt. Ontake, which has a calm expression different from Kuzo Pass and Jizo Pass. Looking down from Mt. Ontake, you can see the red-roofed Yanagimata village along the Nishino River and the beautiful rural scenery. ★Kuzo Pass Observatory Kuzo Pass is located almost in the center of the Kaida Plateau and has been selected as one of the "100 Best Sunset Points in Shinshu." You can see the spectacular view of Mt. Ontake and the entire Kaida Plateau that spreads out at its base. The geology is also noteworthy. Looking towards the mountain side from the observation deck, you can see an outcrop of folded chert layers from about 200 million years ago. These layers are the result of radiolarians, sponges, and other creatures that have accumulated on the seabed, indicating that the entire Kaida Plateau area was once the seabed. ★Roadside Station Kiso Fukushima http://www.michinoeki-kisofukushima.jp/ ★Roadside Station Hiyoshi Kisokoma Kogen https://www.cbr.mlit.go.jp/michinoeki... ★Tanohara Natural Park (end of the Mitake Skyline) http://www.ontake.jp/ This vast natural park is located at the 7th station of the Otakiguchi mountain trail at an altitude of 2,180m. There is a promenade through the pine forest zone that is over 3km long, allowing you to relax and enjoy the colorful scenery of nature. It is especially recommended from spring to summer, when you can enjoy alpine insects and flowers. The view from the observation deck is also spectacular, with a panoramic view of the ridge and mountain surface of the majestic Mt. Ontake, the Central Alps, the Northern Alps, Mt. Norikura, and the Kaida Highlands. BGM by yuhei komatsu and others #breathtaking view #breathtaking view of Mt. Ontake #drive to Mt. Ontake #breathtaking view spot of Mt.
