Summary of Action Thriller Movies Review of John Wick Part 1-4. John Wick is an American action thriller film series created by Derek Kolstad and owned by Summit Entertainment. The main character of the series is John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves), a former assassin who sets out to take revenge on those who stole his car and killed his dog. The series began in 2014 with the release of John Wick, followed by two sequels, John Wick: Chapter 2 on February 10, 2017 and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Prep for War on May 17, 2019. All three films were commercial successes, with a combined gross of over $581 million worldwide. The fourth film, John Wick: Chapter 4, is currently being released in 2023.
