In Baekgok-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, grandmother Yu Yeong-sun (71) and her youngest son and his wife live together. Recently, the grandmother’s daily life has become even busier due to her youngest daughter-in-law, Lemong Lin (20), who came from Vietnam. She has yet to adjust to living in Korea, so she has to take her daughter-in-law to the Korean language class every morning, explain how to cook Korean food every meal, and give affectionate coaching to her blunt son. The grandmother, who is happy to have a youngest daughter-in-law, has recently had another wish. She wants to become closer to Lemong Lin and become a true family. This is the grandmother’s sincere wish! Lemong Lin says that when she misses her hometown, she stands by the window and looks at the distant mountains. She feels even sadder when she sees her. She only wants to look after her son and embrace her daughter-in-law who came to a foreign country as warmly and comfortably as a mother. The grandmother buys a Vietnamese book and reads it in front of her daughter-in-law, and even makes Vietnamese noodles to build a rapport with her daughter-in-law! Then, a new goal arose. It was to participate in the 'Multicultural Family Choir Competition'. Raymond Lin especially liked exciting Korean songs. While working in the fields and doing housework, Raymond Lin often hummed the song 'The Day the Sun Rises', so they decided to participate in the preliminary round and began practicing the song with their mother-in-law. They wore matching clothes, synchronized their movements, and sang happily together, and although they couldn't communicate in words, their hearts soon became one! The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, who had been distant, became closer through song. Finally, the day of the competition arrived.
