Mosel Camping Alf - Our campsite check This year we decided to try winter camping. That was obvious, as our ADRIA Alpina is definitely suitable for winter. We weren't sure at first when choosing our destination. Many sites are already closed in December and we didn't want to drive too far for a weekend. The suggestion from Oliver & Tina from Olivers Reisen to meet up again this year came at just the right time. We quickly decided that we would go to the Moselle and it quickly became clear that we would go to Alf. The campsite is well equipped and is located on the Alfer Bach. The sites are all equipped with electricity, water and sewage. There is a sanitary building on the site with toilets, showers, washing up areas inside and outside and several options for emptying the toilet cassette or, for example, disposing of grey water from the motorhome. There is also the option of renting bicycles and a really great restaurant, which we would really recommend to you. The owners are just incredibly nice, the food is very tasty and the portions are really big. The prices are also more than fair by today's standards. The sanitary buildings are a bit old, but well equipped and very clean. A special feature are the modern power boxes, which make it easy to upgrade from 6 to 16 amps and give guests the option of switching the power back on themselves if it has failed due to overvoltage, for example, which often happens in the evening or at night when no employee of the site is available. The booking machine at the entrance is also a great solution. Here you can pay for your already booked holiday and use it to unlock the code that allows you to enter the campsite via the barrier. But you can also - and this is the really cool thing - book and pay for a pitch here directly, even outside of reception opening hours. This is a really good and fair solution. So, as you can see, we are enthusiastic about Moselcamping Alf. But what we don't want to keep from you is that the entrance and the access roads to some pitches are relatively narrow. For our trailer, entering and exiting was quite tricky. That's a shame, because the normal comfort pitches are quite large, but the premium pitches would easily accommodate even 11-meter caravans or Morelo / Concord motorhomes, but getting there is more than difficult, or rather impossible. The water supply was of course switched off during our stay in December, but we were able to use the sewage and electricity and fresh water was within walking distance in many places. You can find the Moselcamping Alf website here: https://www.mosel-camping-platz.de/de... What else is there to say? Our short vacation was really nice. The campsite surprised us very positively. The pitches are a pleasant size and you are really close to the Moselle and, for example, the tourist magnets Traben Trarbach and Cochem. The only thing you hear at night is the road that runs directly past the campsite if, like us, you have booked a pitch on this side. There are lots of cycle and hiking trails all around and really a lot to see. The Moselle and this region in particular is always worth a trip, even if, as in our case, it is only for a weekend.
