23.XI.2024 MONTE CASTELLO DI GAINO It is a beautiful rock overlooking Lake Garda and is certainly one of the most beautiful natural balconies from which to admire the lake and the entire Monte Baldo chain from the western shore. The excursion is short and suitable for everyone. Yes It starts from one of the many car parks in the town of Gaino, a hamlet of Toscolano Maderno (BS) and the signs for our destination are immediately visible. You take a short and steep cement road until you reach a barrier with the CAI 221 sign. Here you must be careful not to continue left on the EEA path towards the mountaineering route but proceed straight (hiking trail). Even in the woods the path is always steep. The last 150m of altitude difference are equipped with a steel cord that allows us to easily reach the summit cross. From here, on clear days, the view of Lake Garda is breathtaking and extends to the Apennines. Yes, retrace the equipped section backwards and then continue in the opposite direction towards Navazzo, concluding the circular tour by first passing through the Santuario Supina and then with a pleasant walk on the BVG (lower Garda road), until returning to Gaino.
