Money tree - a popular indoor ornamental plant and is chosen by many people. In terms of feng shui, the tree attracts wealth, prosperity, and money for the homeowner. And many documents say that on a leaf stalk of the money tree there are 5 leaves symbolizing the 5 elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth (ie balanced elements). The tree is benign, easy to grow, easy to care for. In this article, I would like to share the entire process of planting and caring for the tree, as well as changing the pot for a money tree that has been planted for a long time and needs to change the soil for the tree. Choose a healthy tree to plant, you choose a tree with dark green leaves, looks sturdy, and the tree trunk is not lumped, touching it feels the firmness of the trunk, the above 2 factors help you predict that the tree has a strong root system to help the tree grow well, because when buying, no one will let you pull the pot up to check the roots. The money tree planted in the soil has very few roots. You see, the soil of the tree is all coconut peat, which contains slow-release fertilizer particles. If you move it to a larger ceramic pot and also use coconut peat, your tree will gradually weaken and die because the growing medium retains water and is not well-ventilated. Here, I completely change the growing medium. I plant it with a soil mixture of coconut peat, rice husk ash, rice husk, humus and cow manure that has been composted with microorganisms. The growing soil mixture ensures that it is well-rotted, rich in nutrients, well-drained and well-ventilated. I use this ceramic pot for planting. At the bottom of the pot, I use a layer of clay to increase the ventilation and drainage of the pot. During the entire process of growing and caring for the tree, the planting stage and growing medium are the most important, especially for the money tree. The growing medium is not well-rotted and does not drain well, combined with the fact that many people consider watering the tree regularly synonymous with loving the tree, helping the tree grow well, leading to the tree quickly rotting its roots, rotting its trunk and dying. You put the soil in slowly and press the soil while adjusting the tree. The tree trunk is quite heavy, while the roots are quite few, I planted it not too deep into the soil, so at first you need to use a support stick to help the tree be more stable. I use a substrate with humus, so it only takes a few days for the soil mixture to tighten, ensuring a solid tree root. In case the soil does not have humus, you should plant the tree trunk deep into the soil to help the tree be stable. Right after planting, I always water the pot thoroughly and wash the pot. If there is a root stimulant, you can use a small amount after planting. However, it is not required for the tree to grow strongly. It is just an additional step. After planting the tree, place it under a tray to create a gap to help the soil dry more. If you have a moisture meter, you can use it to measure and estimate how long it takes to water it once, otherwise you can observe the layer of soil on the surface of the pot. This topsoil is still moist, so don't water the plant yet. With the pot you're looking at, water it once every week to 10 days. Each time you water, water it thoroughly. If you only water the base, you can water it any time, but if you spray water on the leaves to wash away dust, you should spray it in the morning. Regarding fertilizer, I use a solution for aquatic plants to mix and water, about once every 2 months. Note, you should use fertilizer for the Money Tree with half the amount of other indoor plants, because the plant is supplemented with too much fertilizer, which will make the shoots grow taller, making the plant look weak and less beautiful. The plant is fertilized too much or watered too often, the soil is not dry yet, and some people water the plant every day. Signs of this are that the leaves gradually turn yellow and fall off, and the young leaves curl up. If this is due to fertilizer, water it a lot and then put the plant in a place with strong indirect sunlight until the soil on the surface of the pot dries, then leave it there for a few more days. With the Money Tree, you do not necessarily have to bring the plant out to the sun every week. If you want the plant to sunbathe, you should only put the plant in a place with strong indirect light or light sunlight before 9am. Next, I will introduce changing the pot. This is a pot that has been planted for more than a year, the soil in the pot is tight and the roots are sunken below the pot's mouth. You see that the plant is still very healthy, however, you should change the pot before the plant loses strength. Planted for more than a year but the roots are only a few, that is the characteristic of potted plants with few roots. If you use the old pot and only change the soil, it is still okay. This plant is a tree with 3 intertwined trunks, in fe
