Bindeshwar Mahadev Temple, also known as Binsar Deity or simply Binsar, is an ancient Hindu rock temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshipped as Bindeshwar, a popular deity in the region. At an elevation of 2480 m above sea level, it is located in Bisaona village, which falls in the Chauthan area of Thalisain Block of Pauri Garhwal district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. [1] The temple is situated amidst dense forests of birch, deodar and rhododendron. [2] The original temple structure had great archaeological importance, but it was demolished by politicians to build a new structure. The central chamber of the temple houses idols of Ganesha, Shiva-Parvati and Mahishasuramardini. A fair is held there every year on Vaikunth Chaturdashi.
