The modernization of the railway line from Devínská Nová Ves via Kúty to the state border with the Czech Republic is a key project for improving the railway infrastructure in Slovakia. The aim is to increase the line speed to up to 200 km/h, shorten travel times, reduce noise and ensure barrier-free access at stations and platforms. The installation of the second track has begun on the Kúty - state border of the Slovak Republic/Czech Republic section of the line. A new underpass for passengers is being built at the Brodské railway stop and work is being prepared to build a road underpass that will replace the existing level crossing. A second steel bridge structure has already been installed across the Morava River. Work is also continuing on two smaller railway bridges in front of the main bridge over the Morava River. The section from the state border to the Břeclav railway station has already been modernized. Work is underway on the railway superstructure and substructure, traction line, signaling and security technology, electrical engineering and energy.
