Who wouldn't want to revive a piece of home, the way you experienced and loved it in your youth? This is often the impulse for model railway clubs to build a display layout. We show display layouts from five model railway clubs in which their homeland plays a role. Sometimes depicted in great detail, sometimes more casually. You can marvel at them at trade fairs. The Meißen model railway working group chose Lommatzsch, near their home town, and immortalized scenes that are said to have occurred in Saxony during the GDR era. The Seehausen model railway club is dedicated to Badel station in the Altmark. The TT gauge is about rail traffic in 1970. The journey was made in a Deutsche Reichsbahn rail bus. The transport of beets and livestock also played an important role. The Weida model railway club has immortalised the Münchenbernsdorf and Lederhose train stations on its layout in 1:87 scale, in addition to the impressive Oschütztal viaduct. The Thuringian Vogtland is also represented by a particularly artistic backdrop. The "Theodor Kunz" model railway club in Pirna has no specific model, but it is undeniable that the busy train traffic on its H0 display layout is set in Saxon Switzerland. It is difficult to assign it to a specific era, and so an ICE also runs alongside the Deutsche Reichsbahn. A final layout takes us to the Spessart. A member of the Kahlgrund Railway Friends has recreated Heimbuchenthal. Full of ideas and with humor, Rainer Schreck has staged the terminus on the now disused Elsavatalbahn line in H0 scale.
