The Institute of Economics and the Institute of Geosciences of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) invite you to the mini-course “Systemic Alternatives towards the Sustainability of Life”. The cycle of five classes is integrated into the extension course entitled “Capitalism and environmental crisis: transitions and alternatives”, offered by both institutes. The course provides a historical and comprehensive perspective of the contributions of economic sciences and other disciplines and interdisciplinary fields on the relationships between socioeconomic systems and natural systems, also presenting the challenges of confronting and adapting our societies in the face of the climate emergency. The event will feature experts discussing topics on alternatives for confronting the transformations that we are already witnessing and that are accelerating. When: November 11, 13, 18, 25 and 27, 2024. This series of debates/mini-course “Systemic Alternatives Towards the Sustainability of Life” corresponds to a joint initiative between the Institute of Economics and the Institute of Geosciences of the State University of Campinas, linked to the undergraduate course with extension credits CX 901 – Capitalism and Environmental Crisis: transitions and alternatives. This initiative is supported by the Advisory Committee on Ecological Change and Environmental Justice linked to the Executive Directorate for Human Rights of UNICAMP, and by the Laboratory of Technologies and Social Transformations (LABTTS – DPCT/IG-UNICAMP). We would like to thank CNPq for supporting the two projects of CNPq/MCTI Call no. 10/2023 involved in this initiative (CNPq Processes 402907/2023-0 and 402726/2023-5).
