Just imagine, to get to the workplace, miners leave home 4 hours before the start of the shift. So we decided to go all this way. A real quest began. The pressure drop makes your head hurt and spins. The depth is 700 meters, we are traveling at an angle in such a mine cart. It reminds me of an attraction from a horror movie. And this is not the final stop. Then there is one kilometer to walk. After that, the test continues - here the miners bend in half. - Do you want me to show you what position we were walking in just now? Like this. How much? 350 meters. I am very tired, my back hurts, my legs hurt, everything hurts. I want to go home... And only 3 hours later, through dust and tears, we reached the coal mining site, the miners themselves walk this way in an hour, they are already used to it. And this is Alexey Andreyevich, today he is my boss: he helps, tells and saves. Here it is, the heart of the mine, they call it the lava. It is hard to breathe, but this is where coal is mined. In complete darkness, you can’t immediately find the workers. We accidentally turn on the light and see their eyes and teeth. – Hello, I didn’t even notice you. You are so dark, sitting here. It’s hard not to cry. All the miners look like soldiers. I look at them and want to know why they chose such a difficult job. – Nothing, there is no other work, that’s what drives me. – How old are you? – 27. – You are so young, and you already work in the mine. – Because going to the mine is not an option for old people, everyone works young. – There is not much to choose from. Yes, the salary for beginners is 70 thousand – everyone likes it. There is no such salary anywhere in the village and nearby cities. But it does not justify the professional health problems. – Sometimes, on a sunny day, my eyes get tired. It’s psychologically tough here, although I understand that in a couple of hours I’ll be out, while people work like this every day for a whole shift. – To be in a mine and not try to mine coal? No, I’ll never forgive myself for that! – How do you like working as a miner? – It’s great. In fact, it’s a very difficult job. I expected it to be difficult, but not that hard. Will you take me as a miner? – Of course, we’ll take me. – And as a wife? – I’m already married, ahahaha... Finally, our journey came to an end. We spent 5 hours underground, just covering the distance. During this time, the miners mined 3.5 tons of coal. Enough to keep three hundred houses warm in winter. And here they are. They’ve already worked their shift. Exhausted, covered in dust and coal, they laugh, joke and have dinner. Some are so tired that they don’t even have the strength to speak. And most of them celebrated their professional holiday here – at work. – In general, miners are wonderful guys, cheerful where necessary, selfless where necessary, they show both heroism and courage. You can’t do without it, it’s a normal work communication. – Do you like it? – Well, where would you be without it? It’s yours, your home.
