"Our mind is a magazine that appears every four seconds" - wrote Herbert Marshall McLuhan - one of the most outstanding theoreticians of mass communication and media. So how can we take care of proper mental rest in the multitude of daily duties and information that floods us? How can we stop the avalanche of thoughts, reduce stress, to better understand ourselves and the world around us, using mindfulness-based training - i.e. mindfulness? Wojciech Eichelberger talked about mindfulness in everyday life during a lecture as part of Strefa Psyche. We live and work in an increasingly rushed pace – this makes us feel detached from reality. We become distracted, “absent”, it is difficult for us to maintain concentration, focus on what we are doing, we make mistakes more often or make bad decisions. It is also easier to throw us off balance. The ability to maintain mindfulness not only improves the quality of our life, but also greatly improves the quality of what we have to do. Stop your racing mind… Regain your body and senses. Sensitivity, delight and joy. Regain your existence. Start living mindfully – do not miss the gifts that each day brings. About the speaker: Wojciech Eichelberger - psychotherapist, coach, trainer, business consultant. Co-founder and director of the Institute of Psychoimmunology (IPSI) in Warsaw, which deals with, among others, prevention of stress overload and burnout. In his training and therapeutic projects, he refers to the concept of integral therapy, which, in addition to the psyche, takes into account the body, energy and spirituality of a person. About the project: Strefa Psyche of SWPS University is an innovative undertaking, the aim of which is to popularize psychological knowledge at the highest substantive level and to discover the possibilities of action offered by psychology in various spheres of both private and professional life. We want to show the practical application of psychological knowledge not only in the spheres obvious for this field of science (e.g. assistance, therapy), but also in the business sector and advanced, modern technologies.
