It is currently a hotel that preserves original 19th century objects, such as walking sticks, top hats, porcelain, among others. It also offers a program tour of the farm. The first to arrive in the region was Custodio Ferreira Leite, who would later become the Baron of Ayuruoca. After he received the distribution of lands from the Portuguese Crown, he brought with him numerous relatives. Fazenda Florença was founded by José Ribeiro do Leite, the baron's nephew. José Leite Ribeiro died in 1861 and his farm remained with his heirs until the end of the 19th century. In the early 20th century, it was acquired by the Lupércio de Castro family. Currently, Fazenda Florença belongs to Mr. Paulo Robertos dos Santos, who has owned it for years and transformed it into a beautiful hotel. It has served as the setting for countless period soap operas, such as Dona Beija, Sinhá Moça, A Escrava Isaura and Paraíso.
