The migration pressure in Europe is not easing. The number of arrivals has increased on the Balkan route and on sea routes. Last year, the authorities took action against almost 16,000 illegal border crossings who wanted to reach Western Europe through Hungary. The Hungarian government therefore continues to see the solution not in distributing migrants, but in strengthening the borders.
