The drum with cast weight hangs on 4 springs at the top and is held at the bottom by a total of 2 friction dampers (1x left / 1x right). Result: W2241 runs without wobbling again. Notes: - After loosening/removing the 5 screws, the front with the heavy glass window falls down by itself because it is only inserted/guided at the top and not screwed on. So hold on tightly! The rear springs hang in the top slot of the support bracket. It is worth considering whether they should go in the bottom slot if you manage to pull the springs down that far. It speaks for Miele that the first dampers lasted around 12 years. The well thought-out and robust design of the damper holder makes replacement much easier. The fine German engineering is evident in small details such as the 4 bolts with centering point and radially grooved, self-locking nut support surface.
