"Fukuoka Prefecture Folk Song" Lyrics by Takahashi Kikutaro/Arrangement by Yamaguchi Toshiro S31 (2.8 million copies) This song is a parlor song that was originally a work song called "Sentanbushi" that was sung at the Miike coal mine in Chikuho, Kitakyushu. This folk song was the forerunner of the folk song boom after the war. Its good rhythm and cheerful melody have made it a staple at banquets. Even today, Mitsuhashi Michiya's Tankobushi is played at the Bon Odori dance in the nearby park. This song is the second of Mitsuhashi Michiya's 12 million-seller folk songs, and has sold over 2.8 million copies.
