Last Friday, November 15, we held an event to promote and disseminate mental health for almost five hundred students from nine secondary schools in the province of Seville. During the morning, a team of Mental Health specialists offered, in a diverse and entertaining way, scientifically verified information to identify risk and protection factors for mental health problems, recognize early signs of pathology, acquire digital skills for the use of ICTs from a healthy perspective, and ultimately promote a balanced and productive life, improving their ability to face the challenges of everyday life. Finally, a round of questions was held, where students were able to express their doubts about mental health issues that were resolved by the speakers. This event has been organized by the Translational Psychiatry Group (PsyNal), the Mental Health Unit of the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital and the Secretariat for Scientific and Cultural Dissemination of the University of Seville. A project organized by CIBERSAM, with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) - Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain This event is part of the Mentescopia project, a multimedia initiative for the dissemination and promotion of Mental Health that focuses on education, awareness and sensitization in Mental Health aimed at young people and that raises awareness among patients, families, teachers, associations and other social sectors.
