Memphis Depay's arrival at Corinthians was seen as a big moment in the 2024 season and, of course, a much-needed one. Corinthians was a discredited team, at the bottom of the table, and the arrival of a European player, the top scorer for the national team, changed everything in many ways. From an outside perspective, many questioned Memphis himself. In Europe, some even made fun of Corinthians, saying that Memphis was coming to a team that was going to be relegated.
