JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDIP faction, Sofyan Tan highlighted the issue of the number of professors in Indonesia in a meeting of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives with Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, Minister of Education and Science and Technology Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro and Minister of Culture Fadli Zon on Wednesday, (6/11/2024). "With Professor Stella who we imported from Tsinghua University, I want to illustrate that our professors today are only 2% of the 314,000 lecturers," said Member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDIP faction, Sofyan Tan. "Malaysia's professors are 5.65%, meaning they are better than us, even though they used to learn from us," he continued. Sofyan Tan also highlighted the budget spent on research in Indonesia.
