2020 was a very difficult year for the entire world. But it was also a year that marked the entry of many companies into the Brazilian Stock Exchange. There were 28 operations. And among them, a construction company from Rio Grande do Sul that used the R$600 million raised in the offering to strengthen its cash flow and expand its operations in the real estate segment. But the story of Melnick begins long before that, in December 1970, when civil engineer Milton Melnick joined his friend Péricles Correa to found Melco. The partnership lasted until the 1990s, when Milton went his own way. Or rather, more or less alone: he founded Melnick with his two sons, Juliano and Leandro. In 2008, the company merged with Construtora Even and in 2020, it carried out its IPO. Now, Leandro, who was on the board of the Melnick company and occupied the position of CEO of Even, is now returning to the executive chair of the family construction company and is our guest on this Wednesday's (19) episode of the From Zero to the Top podcast.
