This is the first photo I took from the front view. It is a memorable one, taken on a Panorama Super 1000 series train, covering the entire section from Shin-Gifu to Toyohashi. At the time, Panorama Mates were handling conductor duties and it was the height of the bubble economy. There was a wide variety of trains running, with Panorama Cars being commonplace and AL cars also appearing. The train also passes through Kanayama Station, which was soon to open, and stops at Kanayamabashi Station. This photo was taken 24 years ago, and the area around where I lived at the time (Chiryu) has changed drastically. There is no Maiki Factory anymore and Honjuku is not yet elevated. Please enjoy the scenery along the line at that time! (Photo taken in June 1989)
