Artisan Maria Isabel Vaz Noy presents the art of making cane baskets, a practice present in the Algarve region. Cane baskets were used in agricultural, fishing and even domestic activities. These are products made using the technique of collecting sugarcane from the stream, cleaning, raking and ripping it, and then intertwining it. The City of Tavira thanks the collaboration of the Associação de Artes e Sabores de Tavira and the artisan, who allowed the recording of this knowledge, working to safeguard this intangible heritage present in the municipality of Tavira.
