The way designers and artists manipulate our gaze and attention is amazing. The ability to direct our gaze to a certain element of a picture or even create an entire trajectory of its movement, as well as convey certain sensations, are integral components of the work of artists and designers. Of course, each of them has their own style, visual vocabulary and creative manner. But at the same time, artists and designers also use some general principles and techniques. Thanks to them, artists give paintings a certain rhythm, distinguish primary and secondary, combine elements into groups, create a sense of scale, embody the author's intention and, of course, achieve visual harmony. The process of finding a harmonious composition is sometimes called harmonization. And the tools and techniques used for this are called means of harmonizing the composition.
